Le Grand Theatre (The Bordeaux Opera)
Le Grand Theatre was built between 1773 and 1780, and is widely considered to be among the most beautiful 18th century buildings in Europe. It is decorated with 12 statues of muses and goddesses, and in the early 1990s, major renovations were done. Numerous productions of ballet and opera are performed here, and well-known companies, such as the National Orchestra of Bordeaux Aquitaine, make appearances throughout the year.
