Museum of Aquitaine (Musée d'Aquitaine)
This museum focuses on the history, archaeology and ethnography of the local area as well as Africa and the South Sea Islands. Items date back to prehistoric times, as well as the Gallo-Roman era and the Middle Ages. A reference library and children's library are also on site.

Bordeaux Museum of Fine Art (Musee des Beaux Arts Bordeaux)
This fine art museum features a large collection of European fine art, featuring Flemish, Italian and Dutch works from the 17th century. Artists exhibited include Reynolds, Titian, Matisse, Rubens, and Bordeaux's own son Marquet. Closed on Tuesdays.
