Saint-Seurin Basilica (Basilique Saint-Seurin) The large Saint-Seurin Basilica is very much a Romanesque creation with some Gothic elements. Its history dates back to the 5th century, and today it is proclaimed as a UNESCO World Heritage monument. French pilgrims stopped here to pray on route to Santiago de Compostela in the Middle Ages. Saint Andre Cathedral (Cathedrale St-Andre) This 13th century cathedral is one of the most impressive religious buildings in Bordeaux. Of particular beauty are the sculptures on its doors, as well as its distinct twin steeples.
