Baptistère St-Jean Baptistère St-Jean is the most ancient Christian monument in France. Construction began on Roman foundations during the 4th century, with it continuing well into the 7th century. Inside, there are 11th to 14th century frescoes, as well as a collection of funerary sculpture. The Baptistère is located within walking distance of Cathédrale St-Pierre.
